The 4th workshop on Experimental and Empirical methods in Linguistics (EEL 2026) was organised by the Department of Cognitive Science, IIT Kanpur from 1st-5th July 2026. The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from Master's and PhD students as well as early career researchers from different backgrounds.EEL 2026 featured two parallel tracks (Experimental and Modeling). The Modeling track, led by Prof. Himanshu Yadav (IIT Kanpur), trained participants in Bayesian data analysis and modeling while the Experimental track, jointly led by Prof. Apurva Apurva (IIM Jammu) and Prof. Samar Husain (IIT Delhi), provided hands-on training in statistical analysis using R and the basics of experimental design.
The Department of Cognitive Science, led by Dr. Anveshna Srivastava and her enthusiastic team of student volunteers, hosted a team of curious psychology students, faculty, and staff members from Dayal Bagh College, Agra. Our students presented a series of cutting-edge research technologies that we use to uncover the mysteries of the mind. The visitors had a great time learning about our tools, methods, and research focuses.
The workshop presents theoretical and practical aspects of deep oscillatory neural networks. It is organized so that theory and practical sessions are interspersed. Click here to visit the workshop website and register.
